Getting to know The Northern Folk

Eleven-piece collective, The Northern Folk are set to reveal their latest single ‘Get On’ this week and will be playing a bunch of live dates to celebrate. We asked them to tell us about themselves:

We are The Northern Folk. More specifically, we are Paul, Georgie, Khayl, Donald, Grace, Trumpet, Renn, James, The Mongoose, Will and Ed. We are scone-oisseurs and collectors of antique hats. We are also the designers of boutique corduroy active wear.

Home is Albury, also home to three time WNBA MVP, Order of Australia recipient and mother of one, Lauren Jackson. Although we are now based in Melbourne, we love getting back to our hometown for extreme water sports on the Hume Weir.

‘Get On’ is our new single and was written out of frustration. Frustration with religion and politics. The consequence was less of a sermon, but more an informative manual that outlines fun ways to not be a dick.

Our upcoming live dates will be a risque cataclysm of headline shows throughout Melbourne, Canberra and up the east coast of NSW. We’ll also be invading a host of festivals during the back end of the year. Details are on our website! https://thenorthernfolk.com.au/upcoming-gigs/

We spend too much time getting trapped in bathrooms and angle-grinding our way out of them.

We’ve never been hugged. 🙁

It might surprise people to learn that Sonic the Hedgehog’s full name is actually Ogilvie Maurice Hedgehog.

In the future, you will be prosperous and all your dreams will come true as long as you listen to our new track ‘Get On’ and like our Facebook page for upcoming gigs near you.
