Our Top Ten Tunes of the Week – June 28

Here are the songs that have been floating our boat over the last few days:

1. Father John Misty – God’s Favorite Customer

Roam the dark, early morning streets of New York City with Josh Tillman on the video for God’s Favorite Customer, directed by Emma Elizabeth Tillman.

2. St. Vincent – Fast Slow Disco

On the heels of her Australian shows last week at Dark Mofo and Vivid Sydney, St. Vincent releases the euphoric music video for ‘Fast Slow Disco’.

3. Maribelle – I’m A Mess Without You.

The video references the very autobiographical nature of the song, wherein Maribelle documents the start of a new relationship – her first with a woman – and coming to terms with her sexuality.

4. Florence + the Machine – Big God

‘Big God’ was written about the modern phenomenon of ghosting.

5. Elizabeth – Burn It All

Elizabeth is also the singer from Totally Mild and this is just wonderful.

7. Elis Noa – For Her

Check the new one from the Austrian electronic art-pop band.

8. Xavier Rudd – Honeymoon Bay

Taken from Xavier’s #1 Australian ARIA Album charting release, Storm Boy, Honeymoon Bay follows the two previously released tracks Walk Away and Times Like These.

9. Russian Baths – Poolhouse

Brooklyn-based rockers Russian Baths have just released a video for their new single.

10. Mitski – Nobody

Mitski will release her new album, Be The Cowboy, on August 17. Here’s a taste.
