Our top ten tunes of the week – November 9

Here are the songs that have been buttering our bread over the past few days:

1. Kira Puru  – Fly

Sit back and watch Fly, a steamy 90’s throwback affair captured in black and white and filmed inside a retired Boeing-747. Of the video, Puru says, “Fly is arguably the biggest and sexiest tune on the KP EP and though I don’t ever need encouragement, I felt this justified the type of flamboyant, high-key behaviour that is: throwing a big ol’ lit party on a Boeing 747.”

2. E^ST – Friends

E^ST says of the video, “It’s about having moments of connection in the most random places and times, and that no matter where you go there will be friends to be found.”

3. Alice in Chains – Never Fade

“The ‘Never Fade’ video is a continuation of ‘The One You Know,’” says vocalist/guitarist William DuVall. “The full story will gradually be revealed. For now, check out what we love to do best – play live and tell a story with our music.”

4. Totally Unicorn – Grub

Part Tim & Eric episode, part vaporwave odyssey, seemingly straight from a VHS tape – the clip is every bit as weird as you would expect.

5. Bodega – Name Escape

‘Name Escape’ is the third BBC Radio 6 Music playlisted single taken from their acclaimed debut album Endless Scroll.

6. Missy Higgins – All For Believing

Shot when Missy was just 15, this video captures the first recording of the song,

7. BAYNK – Settle

The new single from Kiwi producer BAYNK features London based starlet, Sinead Hartnett.

8. Huntly – Wiggle

Melbourne’s Huntly have dropped a new video. Give it a look.

9. Hanford Reach  – Winston Smith

“The song is called ‘Winston Smith,’ based on the protagonist from 1984,” says Chris Sherman from the Brooklyn neo-psych rockers.

10. Ladi6 – Diagonals

New Zealand’s R&B favourite Ladi6 have just released their brand new single “Diagonals” via Low Key Source.
