Our top ten tunes of the week – January 17

Here are the songs that are getting us going at the moment:

1. G Flip – Bring Me Home

The excellent G Flip has released a new song by video only. “I needed the film clip to be emotional like the song,” she explains. “I wrote this song when I was breaking down so I wanted to portray that in the visual. I can’t act to save my life so I put myself in a hot warehouse on a 36 degree day and drummed for 6 hours straight until I couldn’t anymore, to show that real emotion and convey what I was feeling.”

2. Panda Bear – Token

Panda Bear, aka Noah Lennox, founding member of Animal Collective, has released a new tune taken from his upcoming album, Buoys.

3. Karen O and Danger Mouse – WOMAN

This tune is taken from the forthcoming collaborative album from the two icons, set for release Friday 15 March.

4. Tired Lion – With Or Without

The band embark on an East Coast tour in March, including intimate club shows in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.

5. Mansionair – Shadows

Grammy-nominated trio Mansionair have revealed that their debut album, Shadowboxer, will be released on March 1. Here’s a taster.

6. Alice Phoebe Lou – Skin Crawl

Check this stunning video for Skin Crawl, taken from the upcoming album, Paper Castles, out March 8th.

7. Lucy Rose – Conversation

The British singer-songwriter will release her fourth album, No Words Left on 22nd March. This is the first track to be lifted from the record.

8. Geppetto & The Whales – Faust

This is taken from from Geppetto & The Whales’ new album ‘Passages’ which is coming out this Friday.

9. Fascinator – Your Money, It’s Ugly

Fascinator has returned for the southern summer to perform East Coast shows this January and February.

10. Eerie Wanda – Pet Town

Eerie Wanda has dropped the title track from their upcoming second album.
