Our top ten tunes of the week – February 8
Check out the tunes that have been floating our boat over the past seven days:
1. Body Type – Dry Grass
This new clip was directed by band members Annabel Blackman and Georgia Wilkinson-Derums as the pair’s directorial debut. Originally inspired by the greenskeeper and his roller machine at the Marrickville Bowling Club, the video follows the band through a typical day on the green.
2. Eves Karydas – Wildest Ones
With her national tour about to take off around Australia, Eves Karydas has dropped a brand-new video for Wildest Ones, from her critically-acclaimed debut album, summerskin.
3. I Know Leopard – Heather
The band’s debut album, Love Is A Landmine, will be released on Friday 5th April. To celebrate, the Sydney four-piece have shared a brand new single with accompanying video. They’re hitting the road this May and June.
4. Flamingods – Marigold
Having recently announced their fourth studio album, Levitation, psych-rock visionaries, Flamingods have unveiled the accompanying video to the first single from the record.
5. Vera Blue – Like I Remember You
The video for this new single will be used to bring awareness to Greenpeace’s ‘People vs Oil’ campaign; a plight to bring focus on protecting the waters of the Southern Ocean.
6. Kelsey Bulkin – Kareem
This follows the release of first EP track ‘Samsara’ and is taken off her forthcoming independently released debut EP, Leucadia, out this March 22nd.
7. The Collision – Ghosts
Have a look at the new video from the up-n-coming Portsmouth pop rockers.
8. Sparkling – Fractions
Check this dark mathy, electro track about embracing getting older and becoming more aware of your surroundings and inner life.
9. Set It Off – Dancing With The Devil
This release is unique in that the fate of their third video was left in the fans’ hands. Dancing With The Devil was chosen as the third video from the album by the band’s devoted fanbase, who voted after the band asked for fan input.
10. Web Rumors – Sinner (For Your Love)
The Perth new-wave electro pop outfit have dropped the newest single from theirs forthcoming album Audio Video Disco.
