Interview: Getting to Know Lost Woods

Adelaide-based Lost Woods have just released their new single. We asked lead-singer Pete to tell us about the band:

We are… Lost Woods. A five-piece indie rock band consisting of identical twin brothers and another pair of brothers, and myself. I am the oldest but act like a middle child.

‘Bern’ is… our latest single. It is about giving up on a long term relationship. It explores the feeling of knowing something isn’t right for you but not being emotionally mature enough or ready to digest that.

Home is… anywhere in the proximity of family and friends. We’re a bit Brady Bunch.

Our favourite interstate venue is… Frankie’s Pizza. Regardless of the night, that place goes off. The crowd is just keen for a listen and a boogie AND Frankie knows how to pizza!

I spend too much time… quoting movies and TV shows or putting on a stupid voice. If all of this were stripped away, I’d be left with greetings and small talk. Saving up for a personality transplant.

It might surprise people to learn that… Sam, one of our guitarists, bought a wind-up music box (similar to those in a jewellery box with a ballerina) and hand punched sheets of music to create a distant music box sound in the bridge of ‘Bern’.
