Our top ten tunes of the week – June 14

These are the ten songs that have been lighting our fireworks over the past seven days:

1. Sampa The Great – Final Form

The video sees Sampa travel back to Zambia to explore the traditions and communities of her roots. Bridging the gap between the traditional worlds of Nyau dancers and modern Zambian youth culture, it was filmed in the run up to her first ever shows on African soil.

2. Bill Ryder-Jones – Don’t Be Scared, I Love You

At the end of 2018, Bill Ryder-Jones released the critically acclaimed Yawn. He has now reimagined the songs from Yawn, this time with only vocals and piano. Taking inspiration from The Beach Boys, Bill has titled this alternative version of the record Yawny Yawn and it will be released in July. Here’s a taste.
