Interview: Getting to know Los Leo

Adelaide based indie-pop artist Los Leo has just released his new single. We asked him to tell us about himself:

I am… tired. I’m currently at the Airport about to fly home. I just finished Touring with LANY on the Australian leg of their world tour. I think it’s safe to say I need to catch up on some sleep.

The End is… really about the contrast of life. I really hope that it’s felt lyrically and sonically throughout the song.

Home is… wherever the people that mean the most to you are. So currently for me Adelaide is home.

I spend too much time… starting songs and not finishing them. Every time I walk into a session or sit down to write at home, I end up starting a new song. I have a huge catalogue of songs I’ve started and probably will never be finished.

I’ve never…  had a TV growing up. My Dad never really liked television, so we just didn’t own one. At the time I hated it because I used to go to school and kids would talk about whatever the popular show was at the time. In hindsight I’m actually really grateful for it, as it forced me to be a more active person and start using my creative muscles at an early age.

It might surprise people to learn that… I grew up playing in screamo bands. You definitely would not be able to tell by the music I write now, but my old stomping grounds were going to screamo gigs. I still have a soft spot for heavy music
