Our top ten tunes of the week – November 1

These are the ten songs that have been on constant rotation in our office over the past seven days:

1. Tame Impala – It Might Be Time

Tame Impala (Kevin Parker) has announced that his fourth studio album, The Slow Rush is out in February. He has also released this album track, which follows the previously released Borderline.

2. Midlife – Break

Midlife have just dropped an awesome new video, directed by none other than our mate Oliver Heath. Give it a look.

3. ili – Tom Cruise

You may have seen ili (Emily Middlemas) as a semi-finalist on the X-Factor in the UK. Here’s her new project. Check out a slice from her upcoming EP, Changes.

4. Reilly Stapleton – Impulse

Reilly will be playing a residency at God’s Kitchen in Mornington, Victoria on the first Tuesday of every month until the end of the year, and an exclusive one-off show at Grace Darling in Melbourne on November 1.

5. Solomon Crook – The Day I Thought About Dying Ft. Tyrun

Of the song, Solomon says. “I wrote this song in a time when I was feeling separated from people I should have felt closest to. I felt this need to escape and break free of this helpless feeling but not knowing how.”

6. Sunship Balloon – In Plastic We Trust

Here’s the brand new project from Dan Haggis and Tord Øverland-Knudsen, members of The Wombats.

7. Good Lekker – Pipe Dreams

The band have been clocking up some major supports with the likes of Boo Seeka, Babe Rainbow, Castelcomer and Gold Member, and sold-out dates on their recent headline run.

8. The Sleepyheads – Better Luck Next Time

The next few weeks will see The Sleepyheads performing at Til’ The Wheels Fall Off, and supporting Sly Withers, Hard-Ons and Luca Brasi.

9. Munro Melano – Cannonballs

Check the new single from the Melbourne film composer, session musician, and songwriter.

10. CHAII – South

This was shot on location in Oman, guerrilla-style with a small crew made up of friends and cast of locals as extras.
