Our top ten tunes of the week – November 21

These are the ten songs that have been lighting our fireworks over the past seven days:

1. Sycco – Peacemaker

18-year-old Brisbane songwriter and producer Sasha McLeod is SYCCO. She’s playing at Waywards in Sydney on 22 November and supporting the likes of Babe Rainbow, I Know Leopard and Julia Jacklin & Aldous Harding in Brisbane over the coming months.

2. Grimes – So Heavy I Fell Through the Earth

On February 21st 2020 via 4AD / Remote Control Records, Grimes will release her highly-anticipated fifth studio album, Miss Anthropocene. Check her new single.

3. Al Parkinson – You Look Good In Blue

To celebrate the release of ‘You Look Good In Blue’, Al will be playing an intimate show at Thrive Flowers in Collingwood on Wednesday the 4th of December.

4. Geoffroy – When Everything Is Gone

The Montréal-based electronic-soul artist has shared the video for the latest track to be lifted from his recent album, ‘1952’

5. Kat Edwards – Don’t Call Me

After supporting Didirri nationally and playing at BIGSOUND, Hobart’s Kat Edwards is back with a new single. She’s also at Falls Festival, Marion Bay in December.

6. Triple One – So Easy ft. Matt Corby & Kwame

Of the video, Triple One says, “Everybody’s been a third wheel at some point in their lives. We wanted to approach those heart-wrenching situations in a more light-hearted way, and it was awesome to get some of our best friends and collaborators involved – especially Kwame & Matt Corby, who doesn’t get involved with videos too often.”

7. Bobby Maguire – Moving to the City

This track is taken from Bobby’s debut self-titled album, which is set for release later this month.

8. Concrete Surfers – Shattered Thoughts

“Shattered Thoughts is essentially a cry for help without wanting the attention, which was a pretty important issue to me when writing the song,” explains vocalist & guitarist Jovi.

9. Bad Pony – Villain

Having just announced new tour dates for January and February, here’s the latest slice from the Sydney band.

10. Stevan – Warm

After recently playing Sound On Festival and Jameson’s House of Rounds, Stevan is next hitting Fairgrounds Festival, Panama in Tasmania, and touring to support Omar Apollo.
