Something You Said’s top ten songs of 2019

There have been some amazing songs to hit our ears over the past 12 months. Here are the pick of 2019’s releases:

1. WHENYOUNG – THE OTHERS

Written in the aftermath of Grenfell tragedy, the Irish band sought to draw attention to the separation between the haves and have-nots in society. This is a powerful and utterly vital anthem.

2. ALEX THE ASTRONAUT – I LIKE TO DANCE

After delivering Something You Said’s best song of 2018, Alex ranks highly again in this year’s list, with this truly heartbreaking tale. 

3. LIZZO – JUICE

The funk pop anthem that we all needed in 2019. Magnificent!

4. ANGIE MCMAHON – PASTA

It’s been another winning year for the Melbourne musician. This brilliant single is lifted from her outstanding debut album, Salt.

5. STORMZY – VOSSI BOP

Glastonbury 2019 = Stormzy. Simple as that.

6. SAMPA THE GREAT – FINAL FORM
