Getting to Know True Vibenation

True Vibenation have returned with their latest single ‘You Don’t Love Me (You Love My Guitar)’ ft. Sylent Nqo. We asked Vuli from the band to tell us more:

We are… True Vibenation. We all play brass (Vuli and Klue on saxophone and Moody on trumpet), we all produce, we all do vocals and we all have a lot of energy to share. Based between Berlin and Sydney we love to fill a room with smiles and get people pulling their best dance moves!

‘You Don’t Love Me (You Love My Guitar)’ is… a tune we recorded in Zimbabwe on tour in Africa, featuring Sylent Nqo (pronounced with a click where the ‘Q’ is) and is a based on Sungura (traditional Zimbabwean music) mixed with Afro–Australian vibes.

Home is… where the water doesn’t taste weird. Honestly, home is where your heart is. Having toured the world quite a few times now, we feel at home when we’re content, surrounded by our friends and family who stretch all across the oceans. Home is sometimes a stage, and sometimes it’s a hotel, and sometimes it’s where the parties at!

I spend too much time… obsessing over minute details in music, overthinking things more than I need to, and waaaaay to much time dreaming about food!

I’ve never… felt more excited about the future of music than now. More voices are being heard, more sounds a being created, more people are shining their light, and more people are realising there are no rules.

It might surprise people to learn that… I can ride a unicycle, juggle, walk a tight rope, fly on a trapeze, and make a parrot on a perch out of balloons (I studied circus for a longer time than I would care to admit haha)!
