Our top ten tunes of the week – January 29

These are the ten songs that we’ve had on heavy rotation over the past seven days:

1. Alex the Astronaut – I Think You’re Great

Alex’s new song is about the importance of checking in on each other, opening up conversations and supporting friends through thick and thin. Alex heads to the US this March for SXSW and a run of dates with Jack River and Didirri.

2. The Lazy Eyes – Cheesy Love Song

This is the lead single from the Sydney four-piece’s debut EP, the first of a number of releases over the coming year.

3. Donny Benét – Girl Of My Dreams

Donny has announced a bunch of upcoming tour dates in the UK & Europe for May 2020, with performances set in 8 cities – including London, Brussels, Amsterdam and Berlin.

4. Pearl Jam – Dance Of The Clairvoyants, Mach I

The legendary band will release their much-anticipated eleventh studio album, Gigaton, in March.

5. Missy Higgins – Carry You

Carry You is taken from Tim Minchin’s outstanding TV series, Upright, Minchin also wrote the song and features in the music video alongside up-n-coming actress Milly Alcock (she’s going to be massive, btw).

6. Avalanche Party – Bugzy

Following the release of their anticipated debut album 24 Carat Diamond Trephine, the garage-punk quintet from the North Yorkshire Moors have shared their brand new video.

7. Dianas – Going Gone

This is the first new music from Dianas since 2017’s ‘Leave Love’ EP, and the first taste of a forthcoming album.

8. Haarm – Dahlia

This innovative video sees director Peter Michael create 3D scans of the band’s screaming faces using iPhone face-scanning technology.

9. SIRMA – On

Here’s the new one from the Istanbul born, Brooklyn based singer-songwriter / producer.

10. The Slow Readers Club – All I Hear

This is the first track to be taken from their upcoming album, The Joy Of The Return, out on March 20th.
