Our top ten tunes of the week – March 6

These are the ten songs that have been lighting our fireworks over the past seven days:

1. Lili Kendall – love, herself

The Australia-born, LA-based songwriter says of her new song: “When I was originally writing the song in the studio I was singing ‘I think I am in love with love itself’ – then something came over me, and I just started singing ‘herself’ instead. It made so much sense to me. I wanted to bring light to the divine feminine in not only every being but every atom, the collective energy that is love, herself.”

2. Little Dragon – ‘Are You Feeling Sad? (feat. Kali Uchis)

This is taken from the band’s forthcoming album, New Me, Same Us, out on Friday, March 24.

3. Max Leone – Cautious

Max is a 20-year-old based in Los Angeles who is the latest artist signing to follow after Billie Ellish on The Dark Room. He recently released his debut track ‘First Grade’ and has now followed it up with his second single

4. RINSE — Tell Me Tell Me Tell Me

This is the new solo project of Brisbane artist Joe Agius, who also produces, co-writes and plays live with Hatchie.

5. Karen Harding x Future Kings x L’Tric – Rely

Karen Harding, Future Kings and L’Tric have dropped a brand new single, which is a partnership between labels Ultra Music (Sofi Tukker, Kygo, Deadmau5) and Neon Records (Meduza, Dynoro, Joel Corry).

6. Yung Lean – Boylife in EU

The track marks the artist’s return this year, following 2019’s melodic single and video “Blue Plastic”.

7. Great Gable – All My Friends

This new video follows the news of the Perth band’s headline tour of Australia and New Zealand this April, May and June.

8. The Sheaks – Madchester

Check this new tune from the alternative band from Chicago. It was recorded with Steve Albini at Electrical Audio.

9. Slye – Into Colour

This is the first release from Slye’s forthcoming EP that will be released in the next few month.

10. Alec Baker  – Something About You

The new record was co-produced by Summer Heart, and features MANX, who was heavily involved in writing the vocal melodies, and lyrics.
