Our top ten tunes of the week – July 16
These are the songs that have been on constant rotation in our office over the past seven days:
1. Alex the Astronaut – Christmas In July
This new track, which documents the delirious stupor of falling in love, is the latest to be released from Alex’s highly-anticipated, forthcoming debut album, The Theory Of Absolutely Nothing, due out 21 August.
2. San Cisco – Messages
The Western Australians have announced that their fourth album, Between You and Me, will be released on 4 September 2020.
3. Tkay Maidza – Don’t Call Again ft. Kari Faux
This is the second single to land off the forthcoming EP, Last Year Was Weird, Vol. 2 out August 7 2020.
4. Bleach Lab – Sleep
Originally hailing from Buckinghamshire, the South London-based indie quartet have just released a new track. They have plans to release their debut EP later this year.
5. Rich Brian – Love in My Pocket
Rich Brian explains, “It is about living in an environment of attention being sought with love happening around you that you feel like you deserve to experience but don’t know how to get, and fears being conquered.”
6. I Love That Sound (Live) – Michael Bernard Fitzgerald
The Canadian artist has dropped a new single off his fifth album, Love Valley, which is due in October. Here’s a live version.
7. Malana – Candy
Shaun Banham is Malana, and is an electronic music producer from Norwich in the UK. Here’s his latest slice.
8. Other Half – Tiny Head
Norwich is well represented in this week’s top ten, with post-hardcore trio Other Half dropping a new track, which is taken from their debut album, Big Twenty, set for release on 21st August.
9. Sizzy Rocket – Rollerskating
Drawing inspiration from the early days of her current relationship, “Rollerskating” chronicles the giddy yet terrifying experience of falling in love.
10. Nonô – No Drama
