Our top ten tunes of the week – March 5

These are the songs that have been lighting our fireworks over the past seven days:

1. Sycco – My Ways 

Sycco’s first ever upcoming national Aus tour sold out in less than 24 hours. Due to restrictions easing, a few more tickets have been added. If you’re quick, you might be able to grab some here.

2. Tesse – Better Than I’ll Be

The single is accompanied by a short film created in collaboration with Matt Maule. To celebrate the release, Tesse, aka Tom Stephens, will play a free headline show on April 3 at Vic on the Park in Marrickville. Tesse will also be playing a free show on April 1 at Small Time, Brunswick.

3. Haiku Hands – Super Villain 

The dance-pop renegades are playing shows in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne this April and May.

4. Emilia Tarrant – Honeymoon Phase

This is the title track and first single from the Winchester artist’s debut EP of the same name, due out later in 2021.

5. Oliver Malcolm – Skywalker

Following acclaimed singles ‘Switched Up’, ‘The Machine’ and ‘Outside’, this new track will feature on a debut project set for release later this year.

6. mimi bay – no doubt

This single follows on from the success of Mimi’s vinyl-pressed triple single, daydreams.

7. Alex Partridge – Nervous

Check out the new one from the Sydney singer-songwriter. It’s out today!

8. Zoe Zobrist – Fade Away

Have a listen to the new track from the singer-songwriter, who hails from Dallas, Texas and is now based in Los Angeles.

9. Taylah Carroll – To Please Ya

Taylah will play a headline show at The Old Bar in Melbourne on Friday 19 March.

10. PEEL – DYNA

This new single is taken from the Sydney shoegaze/psych quintet’s EP, which is due out in mid-2021.
