Our top ten tunes of the week – May 5

These are the songs that we’ve been digging over the past couple of weeks:

1. Porridge Radio – End Of Last Year

This new single is taken from the band’s upcoming album Waterslide, Diving Board, Ladder to the Sky, which lands on May 20th.

2. Michele Stodart – The Hug

Of the song with her daughter, The Magic Numbers musician said: “We wrote it crossed legged on the bed when she was six years old… It brought us closer together that day on a whole other level, the song continues to do so every time we play it at festivals and gigs when she comes with me.”

3. Keeper E – This Is Like Everything

“The song is meant to capture how anxiety makes all these unnecessary connections in our brains,” says Keeper E., aka Adelle Elwood.

4. Stevan – The Wave 

The Sydney-based singer and multi-instrumentalist has returned with his new single.

5. The Subways – You Kill My Cool

The band recently announced forthcoming fifth studio album is set for release later this year, with further details TBA over the coming months.

6. Harvey M – I’m Coming Home 

“This song is dedicated to the memories of your life. The weirdos, the freaks, the foes and most of all, the friends. From a simpler time to now, come celebrate our loss of innocence,” the artist said.

7. FVNERAL – CALIFORNIA STREET

FVNERAL are a collective of seven friends and chosen family from Sydney, and they’ve just dropped their new single.

8. Matthew Young – Like Falling

This new track lands ahead of the NZ artist’s performance at Auckland’s Everyday People festival this month.

9. Mo•LouieAwake

The new single follows the release of Body which saw the Melbourne producer and singer nominated as a semi-finalist for the International Songwriting Competition as well as being shortlisted as Music Victoria’s Best Producer.

10. Cherry Blaster – I don’t wanna

The Toronto-based three-piece’s new song is a party-ballad (or ballad-bop) about being done with dating.
