Getting to Know Emily Grace Taylor 

Yugambeh/Gold-Coast-based country-folk artist, Emily Grace Taylor, has just unveiled her new single, On My Way To You. We asked her to tell us about herself:

I am … Emily Grace Taylor 

‘On My Way To You’ is … a song about resilience, hope and healing. I wanted to acknowledge a particularly challenging time in my life, knowing that I had a way to go until I was through to the other side while also seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. In addition, I wanted to ensure that the recording of this song felt as special and intimate as it did to me when I was writing it, so I decided to take the reins and produce it myself, with my live band doing a beautiful job of playing and helping to execute the vision. 

Home is … on the Gold Coast. It was tempting to follow the mass exodus to Melbourne when I was younger to chase the dream, but I realised that I’m kind of a small-town girl – I need a slower pace, open spaces, and to get to the ocean and the mountains within a few minutes from my home. 

I spend too much time … watching dog videos on social media. 

I’ve never … been to Japan. It’s up next on my travel hit list.

It might surprise people to learn that … I love to perform my music, but I am TERRIFIED of karaoke.
