Something You Said’s top songs of 2022

It was a banging year for music, and there have been plenty of tunes that have been on constant rotation on our turntable over the past 12 months. Here – in no particular order – are the dozen songs that we’ve been digging most this year:

Doechii – Crazy

The artist told Rolling Stone: “Crazy is about un-contained power, creativity, and confidence. People call you crazy when they fear you or they don’t understand you.” What a song, and with an insanely NSFW video that you can’t watch here but you can watch here.

Peaness – irl

This song is about your online persona not aligning with what’s actually happening in your day-to-day life.

Stella Donnelly – How Was Your Day?

This was lifted from Stella’s album, Flood, and instantly became a new live favourite.

Suede – She Still Leads Me

This was lifted from the band’s new album, Autofiction.

Harry Styles – As It Was

A simply irresistible slice that just seemed to get better with repeated plays.

Julia Jacklin – Love, Try Not To Let Go

This was taken from Julia’s latest album PRE PLEASURE, which came out in August.

Megan Thee Stallion – Plan B

Pure banger.

Alex the Astronaut – Octopus

This tune featured on Alex’s sophomore album How to Grow A Sunflower Underwater, which came out in July.

Sad Night Dynamite – What Does That Make Me?

A tasty slice from the likely lads from Bristol.

Steve Lacy – Bad Habit

This was released as the second single from the artist’s second studio album, Gemini Rights, in June.

Beyoncé – ALIEN SUPERSTAR

Queen Bey was back.

Holiday Sidewinder – Why featuring Coastal Elite

Holiday teamed up with Oz yacht rockers Coastal Elite to breathe new life into Carly Simon’s 1982 bittersweet hit.
