Getting to know GODSWOUNDS

Eora/Sydney based experimental-rock band GODSWOUNDS have returned with their new track, Tantamount Love. We asked them to tell us about themselves:

We are… GODSWOUNDS is a compositional rock band from Sydney, Australia that combine elements of 70s rock, grunge, punk with progressive rock and 8-bit video game music.

‘Tantamount Love’ is… our attempt at a ‘Mongolian Rhapsody’ – bringing together a sampler of the history of the Mongolian Empire in musical form. It’s a song built to showcase the remarkable talent of the guys I get to play with and our producer, Toshi.

Home is… love with its handmaiden, Truth… or a nightclub in Darling Harbour – your choice.

We spend too much time… making things rhyme.

We’ve never… bungee jumped. I don’t think I want to start either. I think I can live without that one.

It might surprise people to learn that… the lion-hearted Peljiidin Genden, defender of Mongolian Buddhism, is said to have once slapped Joseph Stalin whilst Mongolia was under the control of the Soviet Union. Pretty wild, right?
