Getting to know Chavez Cartel
Chavez Cartel have just dropped their new single, No One’s Watching Over. We asked them to tell us about themselves:
We are… a four-piece alt-rock band from Gold Coast Australia. With attacking guitar, thumping drums, fat bass and powerhouse vocals, we have been on an upward climb since early 2023. Starting the year off with opening for UK’s insanely talented Reytons on their Australian tour before embarking on our Man’s Best Friend Tour of UK in May. And now, we have just released our new single ‘No One’s Watching Over.’
2023 has so far been… an amazing year. Providing us with so many opportunities and kicking all our goals. We are very excited about our new single ‘No One’s Watching Over’ and also the rest of the EP. It is a little different from our Man’s Best Friend EP in terms of sound and creative writing. We wanted to push ourselves further, to advance our sound and sharpen our skills which we feel we have achieved. We hope our fans will be more engaged with such emotive pieces of music, scattered throughout the record.
Our upcoming show in New York will be… the New Colossus Festival, however at the moment, we cannot say much more than that. We will be playing in a few other venues around New York City so make sure to check our socials and announcements for upcoming tour dates!
Home is… wherever you feel safe, whether it be with family, friends, even strangers. Home is wherever you feel safe and loved, where you feel warm. That’s what the Gold Coast is for us in terms of the band. We love our local fans, and they show the love also.
We spend too much time… at the pub. Haha nah just kidding we spend a lot of our time doing behind the scenes work for the band. Things like designing merch and socials. We love doing it as it’s our way of connecting with our audience and also helps evolve our band to that next level.
We never, never… turn down an opportunity to bring our music upon fresh ears. For example, we funded our UK tour ourselves as it was an amazing opportunity to spread our music but also share our respect and love for music together as a whole, in a new environment.
