Getting to know Maxon

Maxon’s debut album, Talking With Strangers, is out today, Wednesday April 8th. We asked her to tell us about herself:

Hello, I’m Maxon… a singer-songwriter from the Mornington Peninsula (on Boon Wurrung lands). I make emotionally-honest music about love, belonging, and what happens when we don’t give ourselves enough of it. My songs sit in the space where tenderness meets release and are made to be felt, not rushed.

I am… exactly!

No, I’m sorry… Weird is probably the word you’re thinking about me now… but let’s go with emotional for today, it’s album release day!

2026 has so far been… quietly transformative.

My debut album is… a loud love letter to anyone who has ever felt too much, too late, or too far behind.

Home is… wherever I can keep singing.

I spend too much time… drinking tea, humming half-written songs that are decades old and overthinking past conversations.

I’ve never… released an album before, and honestly, it feels like stepping into a whole new world. Talking With Strangers are the songs I needed to make to understand myself, to connect with others, and to celebrate love in all its messy, beautiful forms. Recording them, singing them, sharing them ~ it’s been equal parts challenging, healing, and wildly joyful. This is my first time inviting everyone into this space with me, and I’m here for all of it. Connection is everything, and these songs are how I reach out.
