August Burns Red bring the Season of Surrender to Australia

One of metalcore’s most enduring acts is coming back to Australia, and they’re arriving with something to prove.

August Burns Red have announced the Season of Surrender Tour, touching down across the country this September and October for their first headline run on Australian soil in seven years. It’s the kind of gap that builds anticipation, and with a brand new album in tow, the Pennsylvania veterans are primed to make the wait worth it.

Season of Surrender, the band’s tenth studio record, drops June 5 via Fearless Records and in a significant move, Australia will be the first place in the world to see that material performed live in a full headline setting. For a band with two GRAMMY nominations, hundreds of millions of streams, and over two decades of relentless touring behind them, that’s no small gesture.

Supporting across all dates is Australia’s own Bloom, a band who have spent the last few years quietly becoming one of the most compelling live acts in the Australian heavy scene. Their 2025 album The Light We Chase cemented a sound that’s as emotionally direct as it is musically sharp, and a run of shows like this feels like a natural and well-earned step up.

Joining the Australian leg exclusively are Texas five-piece I Promised The World, who make their Australian debut on this tour.

Formed in 2023, the band emerged from deeply personal circumstances with vocalist and guitarist Caleb Molina channelling grief into something fierce and cathartic. Their music pulls from screamo, post-hardcore and Midwest emo, and their 2026 self-titled EP signals a band finding their footing fast.
