Foo Fighters and Queens of the Stone Age set for 2026 North American tour

After returning with the powerful new single “Asking For A Friend”, Foo Fighters have officially announced a huge 2026 North American stadium tour, bringing fellow rock heavyweights Queens of the Stone Age along for the ride.

The newly announced Take Cover Tour will see Dave Grohl and co. take over stadiums across the United States and Canada throughout August and September, marking the band’s first major North American run since 2024’s Everything or Nothing at All Tour. Support across the tour will come from Queens of the Stone Age on almost every date, with Mannequin Pussy and Gouge Away appearing on selected shows.

The announcement arrives alongside “Asking For A Friend”, a soaring and emotionally charged new anthem that continues the band’s latest chapter following the release of “Today’s Song”. Dave Grohl described the track as being for those who have “waited patiently in the cold, relying on hope and faith for their horizon to appear”, with the song building from hypnotic verses into a huge, cathartic refrain.

The tour also reunites Grohl and Josh Homme on the road once again. While Queens of the Stone Age have long been one of the most influential rock bands of the past two decades, the connection between the two camps runs far deeper, with Grohl famously stepping behind the kit for Songs For The Deaf — an album that remains one of the defining rock records of the 2000s.

Foo Fighters have spent the past year gradually returning to the stage through a series of surprise club shows and festival appearances, while also introducing drummer Ilan Rubin into the fold following Josh Freese’s departure. With new music arriving and stadiums now firmly back on the agenda, 2026 is shaping up to be one of the band’s biggest years in recent memory.
