Our top ten tunes of the week – February 25

These are the ten songs that have been lighting our fireworks over the past seven days:

1. Gordi – Sandwiches

Gordi is currently in Europe supporting Bear’s Den, before heading over America to support Of Monsters And Men on their six week ‘Fever Dream Tour’ tour.

2. The Avalanches – We Will Always Love You (feat. Blood Orange)

Excitingly, The Avalanches are confirmed to play All Points East festival in London on May 23rd!

3. Sports Team – Here’s The Thing

This one is the next single from the band’s forthcoming debut album, Deep Down Happy, out Friday April 3rd. The album was produced by Burke Reid, who has worked alongside the likes of Courtney Barnett and Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever.

4. The Bright Young Things – Shadow in the Night

The dark synth Rock band from Sydney will be releasing their album in March.

5. Fletcher Gull – Deciduo

Fletcher Gull and band will play headline shows at The Retreat in Melbourne and Yulli’s Brews in Sydney to celebrate the release of his EP ‘Remember That You’re Gone’ out 13 March.

6. A. Swayze & the Ghosts – Mess of Me

The Tasmanian punks have dropped a new track, which received its world premiere by Matt Wilkinson on Beats 1 and is accompanied by a groundhog day-inspired video.

7. Kelly Lee Owens – Melt!

The Welsh musician/producer has dropped a track from her forthcoming album, Inner Song.

8. Oliver Malcolm – Switched Up

Oliver is 20 years old and grew up in London but moved to LA with his family when he was 16. He has production credits on music by Joey Badass, Aluna George, Masego and Cee Lo Green, among others, but writes, sings and produces everything himself.

9. ALPHAMAMA – Skin

ALPHAMAMA has also recently recorded a 17 track album in New Orleans titled HoneyFire, set for release in 2020.

10. Don West – Equaliser

This new track from the Sydney artist features a guest vocal from the unmistakable Hayley Mary.
