Our top ten tunes of the week – March 12

These are the songs that have been getting us going over the past seven days:

1. St. Vincent – Pay Your Way In Pain

This latest single from Annie Clark is taken from the upcoming new album, Daddy’s Home, which lands on May 14th.

2. Skullcrusher – Storm in Summer

Los Angeles-based Helen Ballentine has dropped the title track from her forthcoming sophomore EP.

3. Superstitious – Shannen James

Inspired by the iconic dance scene in Pulp Fiction, the entire video was dreamed up and executed by Shannen and a team of her close friends.

4. Hallie – Sydney Hates Me

This Saturday 13 March, the singer-songwriter will be performing live on tiktok (@halliesontiktok) at 3pm AEST, playing this and a series of other recent tracks.

5. Tilly Valentine – Calendar Girl (live session)

We recently interviewed the UK artist about her single, which was released at the start of this year. Here’s an ace live version of it.

6. Sarah Walk – Nothing Compares 2 U

Following the release of her second album, Another Me, the singer-songwriter has shared her original take on the Prince classic made famous by Sinéad O’Connor.

7. PARKER – Lie Low

Intentionally released on International Women’s Day 2021, and this song is about finding your voice and not standing in someone’s shadow, 

8. Michael Gallagher – Lula

Michael was born and raised in Hartlepool, the former shipbuilding and steel town in Teesside where a strong local spirit has seen the town through tough times. Here’s his new single.

9. Waterflower – Love 

This is the latest single from her album Balta Gaisma, which was recently nominated for two Zelta Mikrofons awards (essentially the Latvian Grammys).

10. Jorja Smith – Addicted

This new single was premiered this morning by Annie Mac on BBC Radio 1’s Hottest Record.
