Our top ten tunes of the week – October 1

These are the songs that have been in our ears over the past week or so:

1. GRAACE – Sentimental 

This Sydney-based singer-songwriter has journeyed back to her piano and acoustic guitar roots for her upcoming EP.

2. ioakim – tongue tied

Check out the debut single from the Sydney artist, pronounced (i – owe – kem). Of the track, he said, “tongue tied is about having an overwhelming feeling of not being able to communicate.”

3. Harley Alaska – Lose You Too

The new-gen bedroom pop artist has unleashed his debut single, which is the first taste of music from the suburban Sydney up-and-comer who has been writing, producing, and recording everything himself at home in complete secrecy from those around him. 

4. CHAII – Get It Done

The NZ artist will drop her Pineapple Pizza EP on November 5th.

5. Annie Bass – Crazy

The Sydney-based singer-songwriter has dropped a new single. Check it out.

6. A Twenty-Two Letter Phrase – Predisposition

As well as being a session musician for the likes of Montagne and Jack River, and a founding member of Papa VS Pretty, Angus Gardiner has also launched his solo project.

7. Sahxl – My Mind

“My Mind is a track about infatuation, almost an obsession, with an ex-lover you may have once had. It’s about the constant battle in your mind of trying to let go, but also trying to hold onto the memories you once had with this significant other” the Western Sydney artist says of the track.

8. Norwood – Affairs

The single was recorded in between the intermittent Melbourne lockdowns and is the second half of a double single, the first track was released about a month ago.

9. Sara Jackson Holman – supercinematic

The Los Angeles artist’s third collaboration with Stefan Macerewich is also her first single of 2021.

10. Tusks – Fall In To You

Tusks is the moniker of UK multi-instrumentalist, singer and producer, Emily Underhill.
