Sydney witnessed an extraordinary night at the Metro Theatre as Thrice embarked on their 20th Anniversary Tour of ‘The Artist in The Ambulance.’ The anticipation in the air was palpable, and the atmosphere was charged with excitement.

Opening the evening was WIFECULT, a three piece powerhouse hailing from the Sunshine Coast. Fresh from a high profile support slot with post hardcore giants LA DISPUTE, their performance earned them well deserved cheers from the audience. Credit is certainly due to their manager for securing such impressive support slots. Their fitting sound set the stage perfectly for the night ahead.

Then, the moment everyone had been eagerly awaiting arrived. Thrice, the legendary band
hailing from Irvine, Cali, took the stage amidst a deafening chorus of cheers from their dedicated fans.

Unlike many bands celebrating anniversaries, Thrice opted for a unique approach. They boldly played ‘The Artist in The Ambulance’ in its entirety, from the very first note to the final chord. This album is an unquestionable masterpiece, deserving to be experienced in the precise order in which it was crafted.

Each track came alive with immense power, featuring unforgettable moments like ‘Stare at the Sun’ and the beloved ‘Paper Tigers.’ The lighting production added to the grandeur, creating an immersive atmosphere further intensified by the swirling smoke.

Thrice didn’t stop there; they treated the audience to a selection of fan-favorite tracks after concluding ‘The Artist in The Ambulance.’ Among them was the undeniable gem, ‘Deadbolt,’ which included a playful extended outro that left fans in awe.

For a solid 90 minutes, Thrice held the audience spellbound, taking them on a journey from start to finish that left everyone in the venue with an overwhelming sense of wonder and exhilaration.

In conclusion, Thrice’s performance was nothing short of spectacular, and their commitment to delivering ‘The Artist in The Ambulance’ in its entirety demonstrated their dedication to their craft and their unbreakable bond with their fans.

It was a night that defied expectations and left an indelible mark on all fortunate enough to be in attendance.
