Getting to know Jack Anthony

Dharug/Western Sydney-based indie-rock artist Jack Anthony has unveiled his new single, Call My Name. We asked him to tell us about himself:

I am… Jack Anthony. I’m a 23 year old indie rock singer/songwriter and guitarist from Sydney. 

‘Call My Name’ is… an anthem. A bittersweet indie rock song that I wanted people to be able to scream in the car or jump around to in your bedroom. It was written while I was reflecting on an old relationship which we both knew wasn’t right. I had many realisations while writing this song, it was quite a cathartic experience. If it makes the listener of the song feel something, that’s a huge win for me. 

Home is… Western Sydney. More specifically a suburb called Green Valley, which is in the south-west of Sydney. 

Artists and bands I listen to are… Catfish and the Bottlemen, Kings of Leon, Sam Fender, Gang of Youths, Jeff Buckley and so many more!

I’ve never… played a gig outside of Sydney. Hopefully one day!

It might surprise people to learn that… I have a secret talent of being a half-decent rapper. My favourite ever party trick…
