Citizen announce Australia tour dates

One of modern rock’s most restless and rewarding bands is heading to Australia next February and March, bringing serious firepower with them.
Citizen has spent nearly two decades refusing to make the same record twice, moving fluidly through emo, post-hardcore, indie pop and alternative rock without ever losing the thread of what makes them so compelling.
Their sixth album, Halcyon Blues, drops August 7 via Run For Cover Records, and if lead single “Highs and Lows” is anything to go by, it’s shaping up to be their most assured and ambitious work yet. Recorded by vocalist Mat Kerekes at his home studio in Toledo and mixed by Tom Lorde-Alge, it’s a record that reportedly draws on everything they’ve ever done.
Support comes from Drug Church, the Albany, New York post-hardcore outfit who have been on an absolute tear. Their 2024 album PRUDE landed on year-end lists at Pitchfork, Rolling Stone and the New York Times.
They have since followed it up with new single “Pynch”, a sign that there’s plenty more to come from one of the hardest-working bands in the underground.
Five cities. Two bands at the top of their game. This is not one to miss.
