Our top ten tunes of the month – April 26
These are the songs that have been getting us going over the past few weeks. Have a listen:
1. Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers – GO WASTE MY TIME
Not only are they our number one, but the band also take out the number two slot with their Like A Version cover of t.A.T.u.’s seminal 2002 single.
3. Massive Attack / Tom Waits – Boots on the Ground
The single comes with an accompanying film created by Massive Attack, working with enigmatic US photo artist thefinaleye.
4. Body Type – And What Else?
This serves as the Aussie band’s first drop of new music since 2023’s Expired Candy LP.
5. Modern Woman – Johnny’s Dreamworl
The art-rock outfit, fronted by primary songwriter Sophie Harris, are set to release their anticipated debut album in May.
6. Penelope Trappes – Platinum (Saint Etienne Rework)
On this new version of Platinum, legendary trio Saint Etienne bring their renowned affinity for blending electronic textures with pop sensibility to Trappes’ world.
7. Spouses – Beth
Iceland-based Canadian alt-folk newcomer Joel Durksen has shared his new single.
8. smallways. – WHAT I’M DOIN’
This is the second release from the Sydney duo’s BROKE BRAIN (Part 2).
9. Sarah Blasko – Forgotten World (Live at The Church)
The Aus legend has dropped Forgotten World, an EP of “forgotten” songs that were recorded and mixed at the same time as her critically acclaimed seventh album, I Just Need To Conquer This Mountain.
10. Book Kid – Ngany Kaartdijin
The artist’s debut album, Kalyakoorl (Forever), is due October 2026.
